It is performed to remove negative energy as well as to create a space for centering and healing. The practice goes back to many North American Indigenous cultures and has a long history of importance.
Sunflower is known for bringing happiness and good luck to cleansing practices. White Sage is used for many cleansing purposes, the most common being clearing negative energy, healing, protection, and meditation. White sage is also antimicrobial and has shown to repel insects.
Each individual smudge stick is approximately 3″ – 4″ in length.
