Tonka beans are apart of the Fabaceae plant family. It is a tropical flowering tree native to the rainforests of South America. Tonka beans are aromatic in nature. They contain coumarin which is the chemical compound that is responsible for its sweet, vanilla-like fragrance. Coumarin is a banned food additive in the United States, making the Tonka Bean employed externally for its pleasing aroma.
Herbs come from either Mountain Rose Herbs or Frontier. There may be slight variation with color or cut of the herb but it will have the same effect. All herbs are organic.
